Welcome to The Traveling Bookshelf
The Traveling Bookshelf Author Event is a stress-free, fun opportunity for authors and readers to flock together. The event puts on emphasis on author/reader interaction. We know your time and money are limited. We appreciate your trust in our team to execute the type of event with which you want to be associated.
The Traveling Bookshelf has listened to the feedback from our attendees and authors. In 2026, we are expanding our offerings to include not just the Author Signing but also author panels which will forever be known as Flock Talks and a Saturday after-event, Mumus, Margaritas, & Making Book Magic. At MMM, attendees can relax in their mumus, order from the cash bar, and bring your favorite book to bedazzle. Bedazzling supplies are included in your MMM ticket price. As a bonus, attendees will have a laugh watching an Author Team vs Author Team Family Feud style game.
How did we get here?
I went to my first “big” author signing in 2012. I had so much fun and met the best book people. After attending few signings that were disappointing, I was dulsional enough to think that if could wrangle a classroom full of 7 year-olds, I could plan a book signing. With that bravato, our first event was with The Indie Bookshelf girls in Denton in 2014. The Traveling Bookshelf has evolved from there.
Our goal is the be THE customer service event. It is my sincerely hope that you feel like you have been pampered, made new friends, and inspired to go to your next event.
Meet the Organizer: Beth
I have been a reader all my life. From
Nancy Drew and Harriet the Spy to
Flowers in Attic and JAWS, I was always
reading. After 33 years in public
education, I am now a retired educator,
mom to 2 grown sons, and
indulging grandmother to the world’s
cutest kids. And yes, I still read all the time.
When I’m not reading or working on The
Traveling Bookshelf, I love spending
time gardening, traveling, and hanging
out with my family and friends.

Bookshelf Babes & Boyfriends
I am eternally grateful to my Volunteers and Volun-Tolds. The Steering Committee, who help me make decisions and run registration/line control like pros, are the most amazing group of book besties ever. I am in awe of the Volunteers who show up every year to give their time and talents. The Volun-Tolds are my close friends who indulge my dreams of hosting an author event. I can not say enough good things about these gals and the guys who are the Bookshelf Boyfriends.
